MSP will be adding some new competitions and activities to the Hawaiian Hitfest for 2012.  Here are the details:

Hawaiian Water Balloon Volleyball

Two teams compete against one another on a typical volleyball court.  Each team will get an allotment of water balloons to launch over the net ("serving" just like in volleyball).  If the water balloon breaks on the opponents side of the net (on a person or on the ground), you get a point.  If the balloon breaks on your side, your opponent gets a point.  First team to 10 points wins.

Hula Hoop Dance-Off
All players and COACHES will have a hula hoop, and will begin to hula at the start of the song.  The last player with their hula in motion is the winner.

Coconut Ball Toss
Each contestant will have 10 "coconuts" to toss into a basket 30' away.  The player with the most coconuts in the basket wins.

What theme can/should we use?
Your theme can be anything you want to use. It should be consistent through your costumes and your dugout. I would give examples, but don't want to give anyone's idea away. Let your creativity go WILD!!!! If it is going to be extremely crazy or involved, contact us to be sure we can do it with the complex.

Is there a cost for any of the Activities (Contests, Fun Services, etc.)?
The contests are free. The only activities that will have a charge is the Fun Services. It is $5 for a bracelet for access for the entire time they are present.

Are Uniforms/Uniform Numbers Required? What are the rules on Costumes?
  • Uniforms and Uniform Numbers are NOT required. It may be a little more challenging on the scorekeeper, but the goal is to have as many creative costumes as we can get.
  • Costumes can be worn for the entire game. They are not required, as we do not want to limit the costumes, but want to be conscientious about safety. If you have extensive costumes that you will not play in, please be sure bench personnell (like coaches) are in costume so the Judge will see said costumes.

What are the Game MVP awards, and how do they work?
For each game of the pool play, teams will be provided with GAME MVP medals. These medals are to be presented to the MVP player of the game from the opposing team. We ask that you speak with the coaches of the other team to avoid repeat awards of a medal to a player. Example: If a player gets a Game MVP medal during the teams’ first pool game. Please choose a different player for their second game.
