[Fastpitch Softball]

In 2007-08 MSP was able to offer your team a wide array of tournament options. By hosting in many different cities and multiple venues, we were able to offer your team a great variety in your choices for your tournament season. In 2009, we look to expand USSSA and MSP into many more markets and venues. The addition of Branson, Warrensburg, and a full schedule in Topeka will help exand our events to many teams that have travelled to Kansas City to come visit us and participate in MSP events. We look forward to being in those new locations in 2009!

**New Payment Procedures for 2009**

For 2009, we are asking all teams to pay their entry fee prior to the event. To facilitate this, we are asking that teams enter and pay in one of two methods: 1. Online through USSSA.com; 2. By Mail with Entry form and Payment.

We have removed the Online Processing Fee from the USSSA.com website, to allow for easier payment through the online system.

To that end , there will be an additional $10 processing fee that will be assessed for all entries that are not paid before the deadline or at the park.

Theme Tournaments
We will continue with the tradition of themed tournaments, and will host the sixth annual Monster Bash. This tournament again will incorporate the fun of Halloween and the camaraderie of softball. In the spring and summer we will continue to provide events that will focus on the competitive side as well as the fun side of softball (Cowtown Showdown and Hawaiian Hitfest).

USSSA C Program
With the creation of the USSSA "C" program (including the "C" Midwest Championships), and the continued growth of the USSSA A/B program, we look to be able to provide you with an opportunity on every single weekend to find teams of your competitive level.

2009 C Program Update

For 2009, USSSA Region 5 will introduce the "American" and "National" divisions. These divisions will be offered in each age group, as a way to further group teams for appropriate competition. These divisions will be used in larger events (i.e. MSP Monster Bash) as a way to divide teams into groups that will provide greater competitive balance. The "American" division will be considered the upper division when these are used.

As a general rule, teams with-in an age-group that are considered 2nd year will be asked to play "American". Teams that exhibit a higher skill level will also be placed in this American Division. Teams considered 1st year teams to an age-group (i.e. team playing 12U this season that played 10U last season) are allowed to participate in the "National Division." Conversely, your team will not be locked into one of these divisions for the entire season.
