MSP is very excited about running the 5th Annual 12U A&B Mizuno Softball Series at Mid America West in Shawnee, KS on May 1-3rd and the 14/16U B Series will be June 5-7th at Basehor Field of Dreams.  The Mizuno Series is a single age group tournament that is run like a mini World Series. Among the many activities will include skills competitions on Saturday with individual awards for skills and MVP game awards in Pool Play.  The Mizuno Series will be a 5GG with 3 pool games into double elimination. Mizuno will present awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers. 

• 1st place teams will receive Mizuno Batpack Bat Bags for both A&B divisions.
• 2nd place finishers will receive Mizuno Batting Gloves for both A&B divisions and
• 3rd place teams will receive Jenny Finch Pink Mizuno Shirts. 

Individual Player Awards will also be given for the Offensive MVP, Pitching MVP and Defensive MVP. 

• Offensive MVP’s will receive a Mizuno Frenzy Fast pitch Bat.
• Defensive MVP’s will receive a Mizuno Glove
• Pitching MVP’s will receive a pair of Mizuno G3 Cleats.  

This year’s tournament will have multiple berths for the 2009 USSSA World Series.  Last year’s 12U Mizuno Series tournament saw teams from three states and over 29 12U teams competing against each other. 
Last year’s 14U tournament saw teams from three states and 33 14U teams competing against each other. In 2009 we will offer something different as we have a 14U B division as well as a 16U B division (including all 14A teams) to maximize those teams experience in the Mizuno Softball Series event.  It’s something very special to see over 30 teams in one age division playing at one park in a division.
