MIDWEST SPORTS PRODUCTIONS TEAMS UP WITH THE YARD XL FOR UPCOMING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Midwest Sports Productions, the largest promoter and organizer of youth baseball and fastpitch events in the U.S. has teamed up with THE YARD XL, the newest baseball and softball training facility in the Kansas City Metro, for the upcoming 8U/10C/12C National Championship tournament. THE YARD XL will serve as the host for the popular skills competition, held on Wednesday, July 10.
“Our national championship events are a highlight of the season for not just the teams that participate, but the MSP team as well,” said Jeremy McDowell, CEO/Founder of Midwest Sports Productions. “Bringing the popular skills competition to an incredible facility like THE YARD XL was an easy decision for us. They have everything we need to host a high-quality event and we’re excited to work alongside them.”
The skills competition will include a bunt drill, catcher’s competition, pitching velocity, star drill, base running relay and a dizzy bat race. All athletes participating in the National Championship are able to take part in the competition.
“MSP has been around for as long as I have been working or coaching in youth sports and the opportunity to host their skills competition at our new facility this year was a no-brainer for me,” said Rodney Blecha, Facility Manager of THE YARD XL. “We look forward to hosting this event and showing all their coaches, parents and players what we have to offer. Good luck to all the teams at this year’s National Championship.”
THE YARD XL is located inside the new, state-of-the-art Elite Sports Mall in Olathe, Kan. With 30,000 rentable square feet, including two fielding areas, nine batting tunnels and three pitching tunnels, it is poised to become the premier training facility for both baseball and fastpitch players in the area. THE YARD XL provides everything from the “L” screens to pitching mounds and mats to Tanner Batting Tees for those who use the facility – athletes only need to bring balls to field and hit. Athletes can also schedule private lessons with one of the instructors at the facility.
“The Elite Sports Mall in Olathe is one of a kind,” said Blecha. “We have a 30,000 square foot fitness center called The Burn KC, two yards and 12 tunnels for baseball/softball, and 10 4V4 and 1 large field for soccer. With all of these areas are being rentable to the public. And, we are not done yet. Phase two will include an arcade, an e-gaming lounge, party rooms, kids play area, restaurant, and bar. This will be a one-stop shop for youth sports benefiting the kids playing and their parents.”
The 8U/10C/12C is one of six fastpitch national championship tournaments in that MSP will host in the month of July. MSP will also welcome 150 teams to Kansas City for the 10U/12U/14U World Fastpitch Championships July 16-20.
