September 13 Weekend Recap

The 2nd annual Alex Gordon Classic featured eight different divisions and was held at Blue Valley Recreation Complex and Basehor – Field of Dreams with games starting on Friday night and concluding Sunday night. Diamond Club Dynamite had a strong weekend in the High School B division taking the first-place title while going undefeated with a 6-0 record on the weekend. In the 14B division, Impact Softball also went 6-0 on the weekend and won first place in the Top Flight Bracket. Mayhem 05 were the winners of the Lower Flight Bracket with a record of 5-1. The KC Cyclones outscored their opponents 50-10 and were the winners in the 14C division going 6-0. The 12B division was also split into a Top Flight and Lower Flight Bracket. The winner of the 12B Top Flight Bracket was PXP, going 6-0 on the weekend, and the winner of the Lower Flight Bracket was the Diamond Club Premier Kramer. Elite led the 12C division scoring 78 runs while only allowing 11 on their way to a championship. The Nebraska Firecrackers also went 6-0 to win the 10B division while scoring 75 runs and only allowing 11. The winners of the 10C division were the Legends with a 4-1 record taking the championship game from R.O.I – Green.

The first-ever Fall Turf Challenge in Manhattan was hosted as The Twin Oaks Turf and Zip Challenge Tix to Man Zip Line at Twin Oaks Sports Complex in Manhattan, KS. All players on the official roster of teams registered in this tournament receive a 30% discount for any zipline tour at Wildwood Adventure Park! In the 14B division the Kansas Blue Sox 14u Grey had an impressive weekend scoring 57 runs and allowing just six runs to walk away with a 6-0 record and the first-place title in the 14B division. In the 12C division, the Twisters also had an impressive weekend scoring 72 runs and only allowing 15 while also going 6-0 and taking away the first-place title. Leading the 10C, the Outlaws – Yellow were the first-place winners with a 4-1 record.

On the baseball side, the Cap City Clash took place in Topeka, KS and hosted a 13Major division. The Capital City Bombers 2025 were undefeated on the weekend going 4-0. In pool play the Bombers outscored their opponents 22-7 and in bracket outscored their opponents 25-4 in just two games. Coming in second place, the Kansas Dirtbags were undefeated going into bracket play but lost in the championship game to the Bombers 9-2.
